Randy Orton出身自著名的摔角家族.他父親正是鼎鼎有名的Bob Orton Jr.之前他在OVW參加訓練,2002年在Smackdown節目出道,一出場就擊敗Hardcore Holly.之後面對Undertaker和Brock Lesner也打得有聲有色.之後雖然他不幸受傷暫時退出擂台,但是還是每天在電視露臉(就是那個機車的RNN,每天向觀眾報告他的傷復原程度,惹人厭程度120%).

接著在2003的RAW中復出,加入以HHH為首的Evolution,並以"Legend Killer"為他的新形象.其間他一路擺平了HBK, Sgt.Slaughter ,Mick Foley等多位傳奇人物.之後更在2004的Summer Slam一飛沖天擊敗Chris Benoit成為冠軍.在接下來和HHH的衝突中,一洗平常壞小孩的形象成為正派人物,然而不幸地在Unforgiven輸掉他的冠軍腰帶,成為極短命的冠軍(不過不是最短命的).

失去冠軍的Randy沉沉伏伏,沒有太大表現.鋒頭漸漸被Batista搶去.為求能挽回逐漸失去的關注度,決定要在4/3中的Wrestle Mania 挑戰不敗的Undertaker.為了表示決心,日前甚至給予女友Stacy一記RKO.看來Randy又要回到他反派的老路了.
